Many of us have family record collections of records, but nowhere to play them. Old record players, if they have been used over many years, can actually damage records, so it is important, if you wish to keep your collection in good order, to use a record player that is both high quality, and in full working order (especially the stylus!). Our Steepletone ST1200E record player is a high quality turntable with a high-quality cartridge and stylus, extremely well-balanced arm, and precision strobe-light speed control that you can connect up to an external amflifier and speakers. However it is also more than just a good analogue record player. It also allows you to digitize your record collection in a very easy and simple way. Unlike other record players that can be used to transfer vinyl to digital audio files, this product does really make life easier. You don't even need to connect this turntable to your PC and run complicated software to do it - you just plug in your USB memory stick, or your SD Card (eg from your camera), and the ST1200E will create and store the digital audio files (mp3 or wma) for you. You can either keep your audio files on these memory devices, and play them back through the record player, or transfer the files to your PC (for storage, transfer to MP3 Player, creation of CD etc). Our all-in-one analogue & digital record player is very competitively priced. Steepletone is a British company that has been making high-quality audio equipment for 35 years, so you know you are buying a reliable product from a reputable company.

What we particularly like about this record player is the quality, which is very good indeed for this price level. It also comes top of the class for recording/digitising LPs and singles, not only because the recording quality is high (see below), but because it is just so simple and intuitive to use. In fact, you don't even need to connect this product up to an external amplifier - many people use it simply to record their vinyl records, and then play the files on the PC, mp3 player etc.

PLAYING RECORDS
Our Steepletone ST1200E is a high-quality stereo record player with a magnetic cartridge (superior to cheaper ceramic cartidges), balanced adjustable arm, and speed control. It does not contain an internal amplifier or speakers and to hear your records, you will need to connect it via standard hifi leads (included) to an external amplifier and speakers. The unit also comes with a remote control (image on the left). This is used for recording and playing back digital audio files.

USB STICK
On the front of the turntable, you will see a slot for a USB stick. Insert any standard USB stick into this socket, and you can record any vinyl record you play into a high-quality MP3 file directly onto the stick. You can then either plug the USB stick into your PC to play on your PC, transfer to an MP3 player, or create an audio CD etc. What's more, you can play music stored on your USB stick back through the record player. You can even select random playback if you wish. enlarge image

SD CARD
The ST1200E is a versatile turntable, providing also a socket for SD-Cards (these are, for example, the standard cards used in digital cameras). You can use your SD Card in the same way as a USB stick (described above), to record your vinyl records and play music back through the turntable. enlarge image

Very High Recording Quality

The encoding rate when recording can be varied from as low as 16kbs (kilo bits per second, low quality) all the way up to 312kbs (very high quality). The equivalent encoding rate for audio CDs is 256kbs, so as you see, this turntable can produce superior results.
